Retired Accessories List (only available while supplies last)
April Showers bring May flowers! I sure hope so, because we have had lots of April showers. Our backyard is under water! I liked this simple but colorful card. The red umbrella is so cheerful. Simply pop up the smaller panel to give a faux emboss effect. Really quick and simple.
I’m so saddened by the events earlier today at the Boston Marathon. I don’t have a card that expresses my feelings, but I do have this card in RW&B that is a simple emboss resist. My heart goes out to Boston and all those that were there today. A huge thank you to those who rushed in to help the injured, never worrying about what else could happen. God Bless our first responders and all the brave folks who were there to help today.
My prayers for healing for those physically injured, and families who lost a loved one.
Introducing Stampin’ Up! new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These brand new cases are similar to Stampin’ Up!’s clear mount cases and will fit perfectly on the shelf with them!! Yea!!! They also have the images and stamp set mane on the spine to make searching for the right set even easier. Do you love it?? Now our stamp shelves will look uniform and organized. How cool is that?
Check out this video so you can see for yourself how amazing these new boxes are!

Stampin’ Up! also announced a color refresh- moving a few colors around and bringing back some of the former “In Colors” and moving a few out of the line up. Here are the color charts for the new color line ups! I’m excited about the refresh! I’ll miss a few of the retiring colors, but the new palate is just beautiful and very “in”.
WOW! Stampin’ Up! is full of news and announcements today but biggest of all is the announcement of the color refresh! Some of my favorite former “IN” colors are back as part of the color palette now, and some colors are just moved around. Sadly, a few favorites are being retired. (bashful blue and certainly celery :( ) If you’re going to miss any of these- now it the time to stock up on those retiring colors- which are only available while supplies last. And remember- this weekend, from Saturday through Monday there is free shipping on all orders! What a great time to stock up, or get those things you’ve been thinking about. And….here is the new color chart:
I saw this super cute Bunny Candy Holder on the Stampin’ Up! homepage. It was designed by one of the designers at the home office. I modified it a bit to fit what I had on hand, and I really think it came out cute! These would be cute as a centerpiece or just to put in the Easter Basket with some candies in it. It made up quite quickly- so don’t be afraid to try!
Of course, every bunny needs a cotton tail- so I added a little pom pom on the back side for his tail! cute!!
Materials to make this Bunny:
Oval framelets- smallest and 5th from smallest (body and paws) (129381)
Extra Large oval punch- ears (119859) medium oval punch ear inset (119855)
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, and I wanted to make something to place on the table for Holy Week. I have 2 crosses I will share – one today and the other on Monday. The first one is a free template that I found online last year from Paper Crafters Sampler. (design by Melanie Schulenberg) I love the many ways that you can change the look of the cross with designer series papers. I also love that this has a wedge base so that it stands on it’s own.
You could use this at any time of year just by changing the colors or decoration on the cross. I used some retired papers from my stash for a look of spring- something that is resisting arrival here in upstate NY. But also wanted the integrity for Palm Sunday. Perhaps tomorrow, after church when I have some palms I’ll add something to the cross. Here is the basic cross I made.
Stampin’ Up! has announced a new update to the My Digital Studio ( MDS) software program. If you’re into digital designing, or want to make hybrid type cards and decor (part digital and part hand crafted) this is a great program for you. And- the new price is great too! Just $19.95.
Todays share is an Easter Basket I made for my son and his house mates. Using the Petal Cone Die, I used alternate color panels. I scores each panel about half way down and folded under to create the bottom of the basket. I reinforced this with some covered cardboard so it will hold the treats I have to put inside. I used the scallop from the dies to add interest to the flap by alternating colors again. I topped each scallop with a bunny cut from the Ears To You stamp, (spring catalog) or an Easter egg. I then filled with some “grass” I had in the drawer and before I mail it I will fill with treats. I think the kids will get a kick out of this basket coming in the mail- what do you think?
Have you ever sent Easter treats to your kids away from home? What kind of things did you send? Leave me your thoughts in the comment section below!
